FAQs

Can you hold a date for us?

From your first enquiry, I can hold your date for a week. If I get another enquiry for your date that week, I’ll touch base with you to let you know. If you’re still deciding, I will go forward with a meeting with the other couple.

I don’t photograph well..can you help?

I’m going to let you in on a secret. Most photographers hate being photographed too so I totally get it! This is why I keep the photo session as relaxed as possible on the day. People always look better when they are having fun and being themselves, not being posed in ways that just are not “you”. You’re going to look amazing!

Can we provide you with a “must take” photo list?

You can, and I will work with you on them to make sure you have all the photos you like. However, they usually take a lot longer than you think, usually about twice as long!  So for that reason, I advise my couples to do all the must-haves such as immediate family right after the wedding and any extended family and friends at the reception. This breaks it up a bit for you so you are not feeling like you’re spending ages taking photos and having your jaw ache from smiling!

We want to get to the party! How long will the photos take before the reception?

We don’t want you to miss the fun either! Our top priorities are getting the photos you want that look natural and getting you on to the fun. We can work together to create a timeline and if you have a family member on hand who knows everyone that can really speed up the process. Lastly, make sure all your family members know they are expected for photos after the ceremony so they don’t go wandering off. We’ll get the photos done quickly, and then on to the party!

Do you offer discounts?

Discounts are not offered. Shorter coverages may be available for the off-peak season as well so please enquire.

What if we want a second photographer for the day?

Many of the photos you have seen here would not have been possible without Mary. She’s in all the places I can’t be, like taking photos of the guests while I am photographing the groupings of the special people you request. She’s amazing and my second-hand so I’m always excited when you book Mary. She does have her own work so if you definitely want to book her, please book early to make sure she’s available.

Do we need to feed you at the reception?

We’d love some hot food if staying late. Sitting down for a bit and refuelling keeps us recharged to photograph your speeches and first dance.

Do you offer engagement photos?

Yes, and I love doing them! It’s such a great way for us to connect and get to know each other before your wedding. If you’re camera-shy, it helps you get used to having me there with a camera on you and will soon find out that it’s not as scary as you think. My favourite sessions are early morning sessions and evening golden hour sessions when the light is dreamy.

How many photos will we receive?

A full-day wedding coverage ranges from 500-800. We never limit the number of photos because we shoot as the day naturally unfolds.

How long until we get our photos after the wedding?

I will send you a preview of about 20 images the week after your wedding. 7-8 weeks after your wedding I’ll have a slideshow of the best of the best for you to view! While you enjoy and share, I’ll finish and prepare your full gallery which will be delivered 1-2 weeks later. Times will vary depending on my busy season, but rest assured I aim to get your photos to you as soon as possible.

Do you edit all the photos?

Yes! By editing I mean each of your photos is edited for the best colour balance and is straightened if necessary. I make sure every photo looks great before it goes out the door!

Do you retouch the photos?

This is an important distinction, editing is not retouching. Sometimes called airbrushing, the answer is I do not retouch, remove, or alter parts of your body. You’re lovely and you don’t need it! In important images and images for albums, I will remove signs or other distracting elements if necessary.  If you want something retouched then I offer that as an additional service and the cost varies.

How will we view the photos?

I’ll send you a link to your own personalized online gallery. You can share it with family and friends and print and download photos right from the site.

Do we get the digital files? Are the digital files watermarked?

No watermarks! All the digital files are yours, and you may print and post them as you wish.

Do you offer wedding albums?

Oh, I LOVE albums and I hope you do too. It’s so important to print your photos and have an heirloom to hand down. I offer many kinds of albums and would love to talk to you more about them. Here’s more info about the albums I offer.

If things run late, will you stay longer?

I structure my coverage to end at 10 p.m.ish, which is usually plenty of time to get dinner, dancing, first dance, and a bit more. However, if you want additional hours, I do have an overtime rate.

What happens if you are sick and can’t make it to our wedding?

In over 100+ weddings, I have never missed a wedding. In saying that, I’m part of a huge network of professional Irish wedding photographers, and in the event that I am seriously ill, I would be able to find someone who photographs in a similar style to me. Rest assured that I would only miss a wedding if it was just not possible to be there.

We are getting married abroad, can you photograph our wedding?

ABSOLUTELY! I love to travel and have photographed weddings in the UK, Italy, and India so get in touch and we can start planning!
